Amosun Meets APC Faithful, Restates Commitment for Ogun West Candidacy in 2019

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun was at the All Progressives Congress (APC) state secretariat in Abeokuta on Tuesday, where he expressed his appreciation to party faithful for their unity and the successful conduct of the just concluded non-elective state congress.

The governor seized the opportunity at the occasion to reaffirm his support for Ogun West Senatorial District to produce the next governor, come 2019.

He also thanked the good people of the state for standing with him through the past six years in his Mission to Rebuild Ogun State.

BarometerNG recalls that the Governor first gave an inkling of where the gubernatorial political pendulum may swing in Ogun State, come 2019 earlier this year in May at the inauguration of members of Consultative Advisory Councils for the 57 Local Government and Local Council Development Authorities in Ogun State.

However, reactions trails when he warned against ‘Imported’ Candidates. A statement that was allegedly referring to Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, a Senator currently representing Lagos West at the Senate who hails from Yewa of Ogun West Senatorial District and believed to be perfecting all plans to contest in the Ogun 2019 governorship race.
