The Federal High Court, Abuja has affirmed the election of Aminu Tambuwal as the governor of Sokoto State.
Tambuwal was elected under the platform of the All Progressive Congress.
The court dismissed the application of another APC member Umar Dahiru for lack of merit.
Dahiru had approached the court challenging the eligibility of Tambuwal to contest the election.
He wanted the court to set aside the APC primaries following allegation of non-compliance of the said primaries to laid down rules by the party to select its flag bearer.
However, the judge Justice Gabriel Kolawole held that he plaintiffs were unable to prove the alleged irregularities in the primaries.
