Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi the spokesman of All Progressives Congress (APC), has denied a statement being circulated on the Nigerian social media in which he was quoted as giving reasons for the current fuel crisis.
The Party in statement signed Edegbe Odemwingie, Assistant Director, Publicity of the APC has stated that party wishes to alert Nigerians to the activities of one Lere Olayinka.
There is fuel scarcity because Buhari's economy made Nigerians to buy too many cars this year

Lere Olayinka, a media aide to Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, had tweeted a statement quoting Abdullahi as saying there is fuel scarcity “because Buhari’s economy made Nigerians to buy too many cars this year”.
The party said Olayinka has become notorious for being purveyor of fake news and for ascribing fictitious statements to the National Publicity Secretary of our Party and to other APC spokespersons.
He appealed to media houses and the general public to be wary of the said Olayinka and to double check information ascribed to our Party from the official APC media channels.
Abdullahi said even as a satire, “the statement sounds stupid”. He quickly debunked the tweet
Don't be quick to abuse people. There is reason you have brains, use it. I never said that. Ask for source.
