President Muhammadu Buhari congratulates Senate President Bukola Saraki on his 55th birthday.
President Buhari joins all members of the National Assembly, friends and family in celebrating the life of a distinguished Nigerian who has made his mark on the political scene.
The President believes that at 55, and having served as a two-term governor, senator and Senate President, Dr Saraki has demonstrated commitment in the pursuit of a prosperous, united and peaceful Nigeria.
President Buhari prays that God Almighty will grant him more years of good health, wisdom and fulfillment in the service of God and country.
Abubakar Bukola Saraki was born on December 19, 1962. He is the President of Nigeria’s Senate since 2015. Previously he was Governor of Kwara State from 2003 to 2011. He was first elected to the Senate in April 2011, representing the Kwara Central senatorial district, and re-elected in the March 2015 elections.
He is a current member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and previous member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
