Tinubu: You either want to be him, kiss him, beat him or kill him

I saw comments with regards to the NASS leadership tussle and APC crisis where some Nigerians posited that Tinubu political career is plummeting, I simply said don’t bet against him…just like it was difficult to bet against Spartacus in gladiator fight in Capua, same is the case of Jagaban in Nigeria Politics.

This was a man that some political godfathers in Lagos insisted that he will not be allowed to contest the second term as governor of Lagos…he did not only contested against one of them in 2003 election but defeated them squarely and took off the political leadership in the state. There were almost 51 governorship aspirants on the platform of AC in 2007, he supported an underdog who was not even in the race… Babatunde Raji Fashola, the then dark horse did not only won the 2007 election convincingly but won a second term with ease. Same for Akinwunmi Ambode.

He supported Rauf Aregbesola and Oyinlola was defeated. He did same for Kayode Fayemi and Segun Oni was sent out of Ekiti governor’s office. From a lone AD Governor in 2003, he became the single most powerful political strategist in the South-West against the entire Baba Afenifere. ACN from Lagos crept into Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ekiti and Edo

When the likes of Atiku and Kwankwaso contested against Muhammadu Buhari in one of the toughest primaries he had ever participated,  against all odds such as ‘Rain of Dollars’ and Kwankwasiyya movement, Rochas youthfulness and oratory power and Nda’s big ideas, Asiwaju’s support for PMB got him the party Presidential candidate ticket as his south west delivered block votes. No wonder PDP did not sponsor a documentary against the Turaki of Adamawa but  The lion of Burdillon because it was a contest against GMB and the Master Strategist.

He was a foremost face of opposition in the country…call him any name but those who know his worth will never underestimate him. Obasanjo did it 2003-2007, now he has accepted that Jagaban can not be wished away. Remember what Oyinlola said about him during the Aregbe/Oyinlola governorship tussle, but he later hugged him. Ribadu said a lot about this man but he later crawled to him in 2010-2011 denying all he had previously said. Fashola almost disowned him as godfather ahead of 2011 election yet he discovered that he does not

All through the year many of us had thought that his cup was full but he kept on surprising us. To my friend stop parroting what you hear from these politicians about Tinubu because all of them either want to be him, kiss him, beat him or kill him

Turaki Ilorin is a political gladiator, he sent Olusola Saraki and others to political retirement and relegation. Turaki Adamawa is also a political gladiator with a large war chest and almost sent Obasanjo to Otta earlier than planned. Dogara has a lot of strong men from the North behind him…there are much other strong power blocs within APC but I won’t bet against Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Jagaban Borgu.

Before you call me names just remember that we all fall into that four categories… Comment and mention your category.
